About Oleo

An agency built
like an operator

Oleo is a small marketing studio in Perth, Western Australia. We do three things, media, production and web, for ambitious brands that need senior thinking and don't want to babysit an agency.

Why Oleo exists

Most marketing agencies fall into one of two camps. The big shop with the deck and the layered account team, where your campaign is run by someone three rungs down from the partner that pitched you. Or the freelancer, sharp, but only available between every other client's emergencies.

Oleo was built to sit in the middle. Senior operators running every account, with the infrastructure of a proper agency behind them. You don't pay for an account manager whose job is to relay messages, you talk directly to the person doing the work.

And because we're founder-led and deliberately small, we choose who we work with. We'd rather do a great job for ten clients than an average job for fifty.

A few principles we run on

Senior hands, every account

The person you meet in the pitch is the person doing your work. No junior layers. No pass-the-parcel. If we can't staff your account properly, we don't take it.

Performance over polish

A beautiful deck doesn't move revenue. We invest in the work itself, strategy, creative, code, and report back in plain English, not in slide animations.

Test, don't guess

Opinions are cheap. We test our way to scale: weekly experiments, real statistical thinking, and a willingness to be wrong fast and adjust.

Owned by you

Your accounts, your domains, your assets, your data. We don't lock anything down, if you ever want to walk, you take everything with you.

Honest scope

If a project isn't a fit, we'll tell you. If we think your bigger problem is somewhere else, we'll point you there, even if it costs us the engagement.

Our best work is multi-year. We're built to be your marketing team, not a series of one-off projects you have to re-onboard every six months.

Founder of Oleo. Background in performance media, most recently at a Sydney-based DTC growth agency. Runs media strategy, leads client relationships, and is usually the one in your inbox at 7am.

Leads the creative across every account. Background spans brand, editorial and DTC ad creative. Owns concepting and art direction, and makes sure the work looks like nobody else's before it ships.

Production Lead

Runs photo and video end to end. Handles concepting, shoot direction, on-set management and the post-production pipeline, turning briefs into performance creative built for paid channels.

Web Development & Engineering

Designs and builds the sites we ship, with a background in software engineering. Strong on Shopify, modern marketing sites, and the infrastructure side, tracking, hosting and CRO. Code is clean, fast, and easy to hand over.

The Oleo origin story

From in-house to independent

Oleo was founded after years of seeing the same pattern from the in-house side: brands hiring big agencies, getting whisper-thin attention, and slowly building an in-house team to do the work properly. Or hiring a freelancer, getting excellent work for three months, and then watching them get overstretched as more clients piled on.

We wanted to build something different, a small studio that genuinely cared about a small number of clients, that brought senior thinking to every account, and that handled the parts of marketing that brands shouldn't have to coordinate across three vendors: media, production and web.

"Oleo" comes from the Latin for oil, the thing that makes the machinery run smoothly. That's the role we want to play for our clients. Not the loudest voice in the room. Not the agency that runs your brand. The team that quietly makes the rest of your marketing actually work.
